Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed of red brick, which is painted white on the rear and side elevations. The first floor is tile hung, and the roofs are plain tiled. The building has an irregular L-shaped plan, featuring a stairwell and a modern porch in the re-entrant angle.
The main elevation is two storeys high, set on a plinth with a plat band, and has a tile hung first floor beneath a hipped roof with a central chimney stack. There are five glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, which have basket-arched relieving arches. The entrance features a panelled door with sidelights, located within the modern porch.
The stairwells have been partly rebuilt, and the rear wing also has a plinth, plat band, and hipped roof. Inside, the rear wing includes stop-chamfered beams and large inglenooks. There are some early 19th-century reeded door surrounds and late 17th-century moulded door surrounds. The open well staircases, dating from the late 17th century, feature closed strings, square newels, a moulded rail, and bulbous turned balusters, with half-landings that rise through two storeys.
