Description
Flint House is a house from the early 18th century that was altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of flint with red brick and ashlar dressings, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, set on a moulded stone plinth with a plat band and quoins. The eaves are wooden boxed, leading to a hipped roof that features one hipped dormer on each slope and a stack on the left side.
The front has a regular arrangement of windows, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor, the central one having ashlar dressings, and two on the ground floor with keyed segmental heads. The central entrance door consists of six raised and fielded panels, with the top two being glazed, and is sheltered by a mid-19th century hipped porch supported by clustered iron posts. The left side of the house is built of brick laid in header bond and also features keyed segmentally headed glazing bar sashes. At the rear, there is a large 19th-century wing.
