Description

The New Mill is a windmill that has been converted into a house and workshop. It was built in 1848 by Holmans of Canterbury for Richard Fuller. The structure is timber framed and weather boarded, topped with an asphalt roof. It is designed in the smock mill style and features single-storey extensions at the base. While the sweeps and winding gear are no longer present, the windshaft remains. The mill tower and base buildings have wooden casements and boarded doors, now serving residential purposes.
