Description
This building is a barn and stable, now used as garaging, located about 40 metres southeast of Heronden. It dates from the 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the 18th century, and was rebuilt in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed, clad with weatherboarding and red brick, and has been extended with red brick. It features a plain tiled roof that is hipped, with a hipped mid-strey and garage doors to the left. The stable range projects to the right, featuring a half hipped roof and a hipped loft dormer to the left over the garage doors, along with a boarded door and a rib and stud door to the right. There is also a tile-hung turret with a cupola and clock face. Inside, the barn consists of four bays and aisles with a terminal outshot, quadrant bracing to the arcade posts, and a clasped purlin roof. The stable range has been much repaired and rebuilt. This building is included for its group value.
