Description

Tewkesbury House is a 17th-century house that was altered in the early 19th century. The front of the house is rendered and has a slate roof, with the rear roof slopes covered in plain tiles. It has a dogtooth cornice at the roofline, with stacks set off and projecting at both the left and right ends. The windows are regularly spaced, with 2 glazing bar sashes on each floor, and a central glazed door with a bracketed cornice. The rear of the house includes ranges of various dates with hipped roofs. The interior features heavy ceiling joists and inglenook fireplaces—a photographic record of these fireplaces exists from 1971 in the National Monuments Record.
