Description

The Former Church of All Saints, designed by architect Norman Shaw in 1894, is a Grade II* listed building located on Galley Hill Road. This church is built in the Gothic style using knapped flint with stone dressings. It features a nave, a north aisle, and a chancel, all covered by a continuous tiled roof that is interrupted only by a squat central tower. The tower has rectangular belfry windows and is topped with battlements that rise towards its center, culminating in a pyramidal-shaped roof. The north aisle is adorned with mullioned windows that have pointed lights, while the east and west ends boast five-light windows with Decorated tracery. Both the east and west gables are decorated with cross-shaped saddlestones, and there is a south gabled porch that also features cross-shaped saddlestones. Inside, the church showcases Arts and Crafts Perpendicular style woodwork, including a pulpit reading desk, a reredos, and an organ.
