Description
The boundary stone at Ingress Park on Lovers Lane is a Grade II listed structure, likely serving as a boundary marker for the reduced 1833 Ingress estate of James Harmer, or possibly as a parish boundary stone between Greenhithe and Swanscombe. It first appears on the 1869 and 1872 First Edition Ordnance Survey maps, and again on the 1884 Second Edition Ordnance Survey map.
This boundary stone is square with a rounded top, projecting about two feet above ground level. The front face features the letters B I, which may stand for Boundary Ingress, while the left side is inscribed with either the letter I or the Roman numeral for one.
