Description
This is a cast iron post dated 1864, located on the east side, just south of the railway embankment and north of Cranford House. It was created by the Regents Canal Company and features a square shape with chamfered corners. The post has two projecting, moulded cornices with a shield in the space between them, and a chamfered top. An inscription reads "24 & 25 VICT CAP 42". It stands on a plinth with moulded coping and marks a point for the collection of tax on coal entering London.
