Description

The coal duty boundary marker at the junction with Crayford Road is a cast iron structure erected in 1861 or shortly thereafter. It was cast by Henry Grisseli at the Regents Canal Ironworks. The marker is a square post with chamfered edges, featuring a projecting cornice and frieze that bears armorial shields. This post was established under the London Coal and Wine Duties (Continuance) Act of 1861.
