Description
This mid-19th century cast iron post is located at the north-west corner of Princes Road, at the junction with Dartford Road, outside No. 8. The post is square with chamfered corners and features two projecting, moulded cornices with a shield in the space between. It has a chamfered top and is inscribed with "24 and 25 VICT CAP 42". The base of the post includes a plinth with moulded coping. This post historically marked a point for the collection of tax on coal entering London.
