Description
Number 27 on High Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is finished in stucco. It features a parapet with coping and raised panelling. The façade includes three sash windows with intact glazing bars, which are set within Italianate architraves. A stringcourse runs along the building, and it has long and short quoins. The ground floor is rusticated, and the doorcase on the left side is supported by semi-hoed brackets. There is a plinth at the base, and a later 19th-century shop front with panelled risers has been added. This building, along with Nos 25 to 29 and the cottages situated to the southwest of the main Eastbridge Hospital Building, forms a group.
