Description

King's Bridge is a Grade II* listed structure located on the northeast side of High Street. It was built on medieval foundations and features two stone spans with stone voussoirs and a stone parapet on one side. The bridge is dated 1734, which is inscribed under the parapet. A stone also notes that the bridge was widened by 10 feet in 1769. King's Bridge is part of a group that includes the Public Library and Museum at Beaney Institute, nos 20, 20A, 21, 24, and the bridge itself.
