Description

The sluice gates to King's Mill, located at the rear of Nos 11 and 12 on Best Lane, date from the 19th century. This single-storey structure is built of brick with grey headers and partly rests on the ancient stone foundations of the King's Mill. It features two cambered windows with leaded lights and three double painted lancets. The roof is partly slate. Over the river, there is a weatherboarded section that includes a continuous window. To the right, there is a rendered turret adorned with crenellations, slit windows, and crockets. The sluice gates form a group with No 5A.
