Description

This is a 17th-century barn located 20 yards north of Upper Ensign House in Old Wives Lees. The barn features a timber frame set on a plinth made of flint and brick, and it is clad in weatherboard with a roof covered in corrugated asbestos. The roof is hipped, with a hipped stray to the right. Inside, the barn has five aisled bays, passing shores, and arched bracing to a cambered tie-beam. The roof structure was updated in the 20th century with purlins.
