Description
Little Oast is a house that was originally an oast house, dating from the 16th century and later clad in the 18th century. It features a timber frame, with parts exposed and plaster infill, and is mostly covered with painted brick. The roof is plain tiled and hipped, with chimney stacks located at the center and rear right. The building consists of four framed bays and stands two storeys high on a moulded plinth, with some areas of rubble stone.
On the first floor, there are four wooden casements, while the ground floor has three. To the left, there is a rib and stud door with a raking hood above it. At the left end, the remains of a red brick roundel can be seen, which dates from its conversion to an oast. The rear of the building has an exposed frame with some weatherboarding.
