Description
Nos. 3 and 4 High Street are two former houses that originated as one building in the 17th century. The structure features a timber-framed lobby entrance and has been reclad in the early 19th century, with 20th-century extensions added. The front wall is rendered in the upper part, while the ground floor showcases brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall bond, sitting above a stone rubble base. The north gable is made of brick, with the upper section displaying an exposed frame, and the south side is constructed of 20th-century brickwork, although the south-east corner retains a timber post. The roof is tiled and includes a catslide at the rear. The symmetrical east front elevation consists of two storeys with three windows, and there is a single-storeyed outshot on the south side. The windows are casements, and there are boarded doors located centrally for No. 3 and on the north side. Inside, the two dwellings are irregularly separated, with the staircase of No. 4 positioned above the entrance to No. 3.
