Description

The barn group at Manor Farm is an L-shaped arrangement of buildings dating to the late 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with a thatched roof. The original barn is a 3-bay structure from the late 17th century, to which a 4-bay barn was added at a right angle to the left end in the early 18th century. A later bay was added to the right end of the 18th century barn. Both barns have aisles on their outer faces, and the later barn includes a midstray. On the inner face, a set of cart doors occupy one bay in each barn. The roof of the 18th century barn is half-hipped. Internally, both barns feature queen post roof construction.
