Description

Chestnut Cottage is a house from the 18th century located in New Alresford. It features rendered walls and a tiled roof, standing two storeys high with an attic and two windows. The roof is hipped at the west end and has brick dentil eaves, along with a modern central flat-roofed dormer. The windows consist of casements above three-light sashes. The entrance has a doorcase with a moulded hood supported by scroll brackets, leading to an eight-panelled door, four of which are glazed at the top. The small forecourt is adjacent to the north retaining wall of a medieval bridge, situated east of the archway, and is enclosed by wrought-iron rails along the front.
