Description
This is a medieval timber-framed hall with cross wings, significantly altered and extended over several centuries and now divided into three dwellings. The main structure dates to the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
The eastern front shows a central section of one storey and an attic, flanked by two-storied gabled wings. The roof is tiled, with a low eavesline in the centre rising to two ridge levels, the upper parts of the wings being tile hung. The ground floor has a recessed centre and features brick walling in both Flemish and Monk bonds. Casement windows are present, with a first-floor bay on brackets with a tile roof on the north side, and a 18th-century rectangular bay with a cornice on the south side. A plain doorway with a hood on simple brackets leads to a six-panelled door.
At the rear, the south side projects as an 18th-century two-storey and attic unit with two gables. This section has brick walling in English bond, a first-floor band, rubbed flat arches, and mostly modern casement windows. Its south wall features two simple 18th-century doorways with hoods on brackets. The north wall exhibits massive exposed timber framing with brick nogging, some in a herringbone pattern, a single old leaded casement, and a 20th-century open porch with a hip-ended tile roof.
