Description

Oaklands is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with blue headers, and has a tile roof. The front (east side) of the house is regular, presenting two storeys and an attic with five windows. There are three dormers with casements under a fully-moulded modillion cornice. The brickwork features rubbed flat arches and a moulded bond on the first floor, as well as a dropped plinth at the entrance. The windows are mullion and transom style. A doorcase has a moulded hood supported by carved brackets, panelled reveals, and contains a six-panelled door with a diamond pattern glazed upper panel. Stone steps lead to the door. A plain carriage entrance is situated on the south side of the property.
