Description

The building at 52 Broad Street, New Alresford (formerly known as Cambo House), is a 17th-century house with early 19th-century additions and alterations. It is a timber-framed structure, later clad in roughcast, with tile-hung gables at each end and a tile roof. The house has two storeys and two windows. The windows are 19th-century sash windows, with the lower sills resting on a prominent plinth. A doorcase has a moulded cornice, a frieze, pilasters, and panelled reveals, leading to a six-panelled door with four glazed panes at the top. Brick boundary walls extend along the front of the property, featuring a plinth and a gateway on the south side (adjacent to No. 50), which has modern brick piers. Sections of the east and south walls reveal exposed timber-framing with painted brick infill.
