Description

Nos 1 and 2 Back Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 15th or 16th century, which have been restored. They are two storeys high with an attic and are constructed with a timber frame and brick infilling, topped with an old tile roof. A large stone chimney with brick flues is located on the Back Street side, and there is one dormer. The first floor features three windows, while the ground floor has one window and two doors. The windows are modern casement types, and the doors are modern as well, set within late 18th-century frames that include small cut brackets and board hoods. There are also late 19th-century features present.
