Description
Nos. 32 and 34 on The Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The cottages are timber framed, with the left side exposed and featuring whitewashed roughcast infill. The rear has a sandstone extension, while the front is clad in whitewashed brick with pebbledash. They have gabled roofs covered with plain tiles, and the gable end faces the street, with the entrance positioned at right angles.
The entrance front is two storeys high, featuring a ridge stack to the left of the centre and a front stack to the right. There are two framed bays with curved bracing on the first floor and a mix of window styles. The ground floor has a central door, and there is a single-storey weatherboarded extension that projects to the right.
On the street front, the gable features pierced wavy-edged bargeboards supported by end brackets, topped with a spiked finial at the apex. The first floor jetties out and has leaded casement windows, with one window on each floor set beneath label mouldings.
