Description

Nos. 52 and 54 on The Street are a pair of cottages that were originally built as a three-cell plan house in the 17th or 18th century, with early 19th-century alterations. The cottages are one storey high with attics and are constructed with a timber frame and plaster, while the front is encased in painted brick from the 19th century. They feature a thatched roof with eyebrow casement dormers and a central chimney made of red brick. The cottages have 19th-century two-light windows that include hinged boarded external shutters. The entrance door for No. 52 is an early 19th-century six-panelled design.
