Description

This is an early 19th century building, likely dating to 1833, located on St Cross Road. It is a two-story building with red brick walls and a moulded stucco string course under a parapet with stone coping. The front facade has four sash windows with glazing bars. The central doorway is recessed within an elliptical arched opening flanked by engaged Tuscan columns, a cornice, and a fanlight with a reversed honeysuckle design. The door itself is of six panels. The roof is not visible. In the ground floor, two windows are recessed within elliptical arches – the right-hand window has been replaced by a modern wrought iron railing. Nos. 53 to 63 (odd) form a cohesive group.
