Description

This barn, located 20 meters northwest of Godsfield Farmhouse, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber-frame construction with weatherboarding and a corrugated iron roof. The barn is designed in two phases and consists of five bays, with a lower ridge at the farmhouse end and an earlier section of four bays beyond. There is a blocked porch in the third bay from each end. Inside, the later phase has a queen post strut roof with straight braces, wallplate ties, and one set of purlins. The earlier roof also has a queen post strut but features curved braces, two sets of purlins, and a hipped end.
