Description
This barn, located 10 meters south of Elm Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and was extended in the 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure that is weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof that has a finial ridge piece. The original barn consists of three bays and includes a hipped midstray porch with double doors. Two additional bays were added to the road end in the 18th century, and the roof is half-hipped. Inside, there is a queen post roof with posts on piers and walls resting on brick plinths. The barn also has arched braces to the aisle-plates and cambered tiebeams, along with straight windbraces. In the newly added bays, there is a mix of larch poles.
