Description
The Church of the Holy Trinity is a parish church built between 1841 and 1844 by G. Guillarme. It features a square knapped flint exterior with stone dressings and a slate roof. The church has a nave with a south porch and a small chancel that has a polygonal end. The chancel includes a triple lancet east window and clasping buttresses, along with a two-light plate tracery south window.
To the north, there is a lean-to vestry that extends to half of the chancel and the eastern two bays of the nave, which has a large north three-light trefoiled window and deep buttresses at the corners, with a door to the west. The five-bay nave is supported by stepped buttresses at each end and between the bays, featuring tall lancets with hood moulds in all bays except those with the vestry and south porch. The south porch is gabled and has a large three-order pointed doorway with a detached middle order on columns, along with a kneelered gable that includes slight buttress-stone modillions supporting the coping and corbelled large kneelers at the ends of the gable walls.
Inside, there are stained glass windows and contemporary furnishings. A notable monument from 1865 commemorates J. T. Waddington, created by Newman of Winchester, depicting a standing woman in relief on a tablet.
