Description
King Charles Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and an old plain tile roof. The original 16th-century building consists of three bays, with a wide 17th-century cross-wing added to the right bay, making it two stories tall.
The cottage has a planked door in the cross-wing on the left, accompanied by a four-light leaded casement window to the right. Above the door, there is a single casement window and a three-light leaded oriel window supported by two moulded brackets. Just below the eaves, a small five-light leaded casement is present, and the roof is half-hipped. The center bay contains a four-light leaded casement with a three-light similar window above it, while the left bay has both a three-light and a two-light leaded casement. A planked door is located between the bays. The roof is half-hipped on the left side, and there is a large stack positioned above the door on the ridge.
