Description
Lower Lanham Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the mid 18th century and was remodelled in the mid 20th century. It is constructed of rubble flint with brick bands and dressings, topped with an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has a cellar, featuring a five-window range. The front door, located in the second bay from the right, is a 20th-century glazed door set within a doorcase that has fluted pilasters and consoles supporting a broken pediment. All the windows are also from the 20th century, featuring gauged brick arches and lowered cills. There is a rendered band on the first floor above a brick band, and a plain timber cornice. To the right of the door, there are wide brick dressings, and there is a blocked doorway in the second bay from the left. The roof is steeply pitched and has 18th-century gable end stacks, with an external stack on the right.
