Description

Davey is a house and shop located on the east side of High Street in Bishops Waltham. It dates from the early 18th century, with some early 19th-century alterations and a 20th-century shopfront. The building features brick walls laid in Flemish bond, a central cambered arch that leads to a now-filled narrow opening, and rubbed flat arches on either side. The roof is tiled, with moulded wooden eaves above plaster coving, and there is a tall gable at the rear, which is part of the staircase wing. The symmetrical west front has two storeys and an attic, with three windows (the center one is blank). The windows are sashes set in reveals, and the shopfront is plain and double-fronted.
