Description

The kitchen garden wall and retaining wall, located 100 meters west of Ampfield House, date from the early 19th century. Constructed of brick in Flemish garden wall bond, the wall features a brick coping. The section along the road stands 3 meters tall and includes regular flat buttresses. In front of this wall is a terrace with a lower brick retaining wall. At each end, the wall returns to form the other sides of the garden. One end of the wall continues as a low wall, with its foundations at the same level as the retaining wall, connecting to the stable courtyard.
