Description

This monument, located 5 meters west of St Andrew's Church in Nether Wallop, was erected in 1760 to honor Francis Douce Esq., a Doctor in Physick. Made of Portland stone, it features a square pyramid that measures 3 meters on each side and stands 3 meters tall, resting on a square plinth that originally had railings. The inscription on the west side begins with "Here lye the remains of Francis Douce" and goes on to describe his ancestors and notable deeds.
