Description
Orchard Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Mesh Road in Michelmersh. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a thatched roof. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and consists of two bays, with an outshot or hip-bay at each end. The front has a plinth and a four-panel door located to the right of the left bay, accessed by steps. To the left, there is a three-light casement window, and at the left end, there is a weatherboarded outshot that projects forward. In the right bay, there is a two-light casement window, along with a pair of three-light casements positioned above and below a frame member. A similar casement window is found in the right hip bay. The roof is hipped and slopes down to the left, featuring a ridge piece and a stack positioned above the door.
