Description

Old House is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th and 20th centuries. The original core is timber-framed and has been clad in brick, with a thatched roof. It is a one-and-a-half-story building, originally three bays wide, with a bay added to the left and outshots at each end, and a 20th-century wing to the rear.

The front of the cottage is one-and-a-half stories and four bays wide, with outshots to the sides. A wide, projecting timber and thatched porch is on the right side of the central bay, featuring open seating in front and a ledged door flanked by leaded windows. There are two-light segmental-head casement windows to each side, with a leaded three-light oriel window with a segmental roof set outside. A two-light casement window is in the left bay, and single casements are in the outshots. A weather-boarded outshot is on the right. The roof is hipped and swept down with a ridge piece. A T-shaped stack is located above the front door.
