Description
The Gatehouse, located 80 meters south of Braishfield Manor House, is a barn and stable that has been converted into a garage and residence. It dates from the 18th century or early 19th century and was altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed of flint with brick bands and dressings, and the upper part is weatherboarded, topped with a thatched roof. It consists of four bays, with two bays running parallel to the road and two bays set at a slight angle to it, along with an added rendered section between the end and the gateway. The building features high-set, two-light casements in the weatherboarding, except for the end bays. The roof is hipped, with a gable at the far end of the end bay, which has thatch that overhangs it.
