Description

BRAISHFIELD PAYNES HAY ROAD SU 32 NE 5/11 The Gatehouse (80m S of Braishfield Manor House)

GV II

Barn and stable, now garage and residence. C18 or early C19, altered C20. Flint with brick bands and dressings, upper part weatherboarded, roof thatched. Of 4 bays 2 bays parallel to road and 2 bays at slight angle to it with added rendered part between end and the gateway. 2-light casements high set in weatherboarding in all but end bays. Roof hipped and at far end gable to rear of end bay with thatch overhanging it.
