Description

This is a row of three cottages located on Newport Lane in Braishfield. They were originally built in the late 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of rendered brick with a roof of old plain tiles. The row is two storeys high and comprises three and two bays. Number 1, on the right-hand side, features a 20th-century glazed and timber pent-roofed porch to the left-hand bay, while the right-hand bay has two 12-pane sashes on each floor. The central, three-bay cottage has a 19th-century glazed and timber pent-roofed porch to the centre and left-hand bays, and a 12-pane segmental head sash to the right-hand bay. On the first floor, there are two 12-pane sashes either side of a blank opening. The left-hand cottage has a 20th-century glazed and timber hip-roofed porch with a bow window to the left, and two 16-pane sashes above. A toothed cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is hipped, with ridge stacks positioned between the cottages.
