Description

Nos 115 to 121 on The Hundred is a building dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is two storeys high with a cellar and features a slate roof with wide hips. The main northwest front is constructed of red brick and has three tall brick stacks at the front and three at the back. Each house has one window bay, except for No 113, which has two. The windows are sash type, set in shallow reveals, with intact glazing bars and rubbed brick voussoirs.

Access to the houses is via flights of four steps, most of which are flanked by an iron handrail, leading to semi-circular headed doorways that also feature rubbed brick voussoirs. The doors have a plain semi-circular fanlight above, with four flush panels for most doors, while No 113 has six panels, four of which are moulded and fielded. The southwest side wall is slate-hung and includes a tall semi-circular headed staircase window in the center, which is a sash window with a radiating glazing pattern in shallow reveals and rubbed brick voussoirs. There are similarly shaped but smaller openings above on either side, with blocked tympana and two-light casement windows below. The northeast side wall has modern casement windows and is made of painted brick. The back of the house is also slate-hung.
