Description

Linden House is a late 18th-century building. It is two storeys high and constructed of white brick on a Portland stone plinth. The building features a moulded stone cornice and a plain brick parapet with stone coping. The roof is slate-covered, with two segmental-headed windows on the first floor and a central semi-circular-headed window with stone springers and a keystone. The ground floor also has two semi-circular-headed windows. All windows have four panes and stone cills. The central entrance is a six-panel door with a radiating and wreathed fanlight, set within an arched panelled reveal and sheltered by a deep Roman Doric portico of stone columns and pilasters on a wall face, supporting an entablature crowned with an open moulded pediment. The portico's soffit is panelled in wood, and it stands on a stone landing accessed by six moulded stone steps.
