2/1 Manor Farmhouse
II
House. Late C17, early C18 and early C19. Mixed wall materials, tile roof. 2-storeyed. T-shaped block, of which the cross piece is older with thick walls now rendered, and stone quoins (and a massive clasped buttress of stepped brickwork at the angle): the stem of the early C18; the whole having irregular fenestration, including some early C19 sashes. The front (south-east) of 2.1 windows has roughcast walls, 1st floor-band, plinth, flat and cambered arches (one filled upper opening), projecting stepped stack. Sashes of different size, and one late C19 rectangular bay (of casements) with a hipped tile -roof. The north-east elevation is rendered above a brick plinth,, with windows unevenly spaced and of different sizes (but all sashes) The walls forming the internal angle (west) are of flint to the ground floor with brick quoins, 1st floor band, cambered arches, cill band and plinth, the upper walls of brickwork in Flemish and English bond; sashes. The hip at the north west extends to a low eaves above an outshot & links to a narrow service wing. Of several doors the main entrance is a glazed porch with a hipped roof. There are 2 flat-roofed C20 dormers to the south-east and north-east elevations. Within there is a C18 staircase with slatted balusters.
