Description

The Kimpton Down Inn is a public house built in the late 18th century and mid 19th century. It features a combination of flint and brick construction with a tiled roof. The symmetrical front, facing east, has two storeys and three windows, with the centre row filled in. The roof is hipped, and there are brick dentil eaves. The walls are composed of eight horizontal flint panels interrupted by openings, with brick quoins and cambered openings on the ground floor, as well as a plinth. The windows are casements, and there is a 20th-century half-glazed porch.
