Description

Manor Cottage Farmhouse is a house dating from 1740, with a 20th-century extension on the west side. It is constructed of brick and tile. The south front of the house is regular, with two storeys and space for 1.4 windows (with one blank window above the door). The roof is hipped at the east end and gabled at the west, with the gable being slightly higher than the 20th-century extension. The north side has lower eaves and two gabled dormers. The brickwork is in a painted header bond, with a Flemish bond pattern on the north side. Ground-floor openings are cambered, with a plinth below. The windows are mostly 20th-century casements, although one old casement remains on the north side. A plain doorway leads to a 6-panelled door; a 20th-century gabled porch provides access to the north entrance. A small 20th-century porch has been added to the east end. A plaque inscribed “BB1740” is visible on the building.
