Description
The Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century, with re-cladding from the early 19th century. It features flint and thatch construction, with a south elevation that is one storey and an attic high, comprising two sections above four windows, one of which was originally a doorway. The roof is half-hipped, and the eaves are raised above the upper windows. The flint walls are complemented by brick quoins, and the windows are casements. There is a 20th-century entrance at the west end. Inside, the framing indicates that it originally served as a late-medieval two-bay hall, which included a large fireplace at the west end when a first floor was added. A further timber-framed bay was added at the west end, and the three-bay unit was later re-clad. At the rear, there is a late 20th-century extension made of timber frame, with glazed panels on the south side.
