Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a late 18th-century house. Originally listed as Walnut Cottage, it is located in Appleshaw. The house has a symmetrical west-facing front with two storeys and a 1-1-1 window arrangement. It has a hipped roof with an eaves moulding, and walls of painted brickwork laid in a header bond. Plain pilasters are present on either side and around the central openings. There is a plinth at the base of the walls. The windows are largely Victorian sashes, with an early 19th-century sash window in the centre. The doorway features a moulded canopy supported by carved brackets, a plain frame enclosing a two-light fanlight, and a six-panelled door.
