Description
The Post House is a house built in the late 18th century, with early and late 19th-century alterations and minor changes from the 20th century. It features brindle brick walls arranged in header bond, with flush red dressings that indicate the first pattern of fenestration, a first-floor band, a plinth, and a cambered opening on the ground floor. The roof is covered with plain tiles. Originally, the north front was symmetrical with two storeys and five windows, but in the 19th century, it was altered to three windows and extended by one upper window on the east side in the late 19th century. The house has Victorian casements, including one large 20th-century bow window that replaced a former projecting shopfront. The doorway is topped with a moulded canopy and features a panelled door. At the rear, there is a single-storeyed wing on the west side, which was a former bakery, and a two-storeyed wing on the east side.
