Description

Archbishop’s Cottage is a small cottage dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of flint walls with brick detailing and has a thatched roof, steeply hipped to the west front, featuring a central gabled dormer with a boarded apron. The west front is symmetrical, arranged with one storey and an attic, displaying a 1-over-2 window arrangement. Casement windows are present, and a central boarded door provides access. A small projection extends from the north side. The cottage is linked to Archbishop Howley, the son of a vicar who later crowned Queen Victoria.
