Description
The Old Parsonage is a house that dates from the 17th century, with early 18th century and 19th century alterations. It features walls of painted brickwork in Flemish bond, while the wing is rendered and includes a first-floor band and a high plinth. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles. Originally a timber-framed building, it was reclad in the early 18th century when a cross-wing was added at the east end, along with some 19th-century features and rear additions. The front entrance has a half-glazed door set beneath a tiled canopy supported by brackets and posts.
The north elevation, which is the rear, has several projections and is constructed of painted brick walls in English bond. It features a tile-hung gable on the east side and a half-hipped gable on the west side, which has exposed framing. There are some old leaded casements and another half-glazed door. The east end of the cross-wing has a central gable with a tapered stack, painted brick walls, a first-floor band, and a high plinth, along with a boarded door from the 18th century in a plain frame, situated within a tiled outshot.
