Description

New Farm House is a farmhouse with a core dating from the 17th century, which was rebuilt in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. The original timber-frame core is encased in brick, which was once colourwashed, and it features an old plain tile roof along with an addition in chequer brickwork and a slate roof. The building consists of three bays and a chimney bay, with hipped bays added to the rear of the right two bays and two 19th-century bays added to the left.

The front of the house has a pent-roofed porch in front of the chimney bay, which is the second bay from the right and is now blank. The other bays contain original gauged brick openings with 20th-century single pane windows. On the first floor, all but the chimney bay have 18th-century 16-pane sash windows. There are stacks at each end of the building and over the chimney bay. The left 19th-century bays feature three-light casements in the right bay, a brick lean-to in the left bay, and a large central ridge stack.
