Description
47 and 49 Cherville Street are early to mid-19th century buildings that stand two stories tall, featuring a slightly higher frontage and roof line. The buildings have a slate roof with flat eaves and are constructed of red brick. There are three window bays across the front.
On the first floor of No 47, there is a three-light sash window set in painted reveals. The ground floor has a central doorway with a six-panelled door in reveals, topped by a rectangular fanlight. This doorway is flanked by narrow pilasters, with a plain frieze and a narrow moulded string above, and a small flat hood. To the northeast, there is a sash window that is three panes wide, also in painted reveals and featuring a rubbed brick voussoir. To the southwest of the central door, there is a wooden boarded door with a frame and a rubbed brick voussoir.
No 49 has two three-pane wide sash windows on the first floor, set in painted reveals. The ground floor features a 19th-century shop front with a central doorway and a large window that is six panes wide, which may have originally been arranged in four tiers, flanked by pilasters on either side. Above both the doorway and the windows, there is a moulded fascia and hood.
Nos 45 to 51 (odd) form a group with these buildings.
