Description
Nos 101 and 103 on Newport Street are early 19th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed from painted brick with a pantile roof and a diagonal set brick eaves cornice. The upper floors feature two sliding sash windows with glazing bars above two sliding sashes that have three lights each. The ground floor of No 101 includes one hung sash window with glazing bars and a plain door set in a simple wood surround, which has a blocked rectangular fanlight above it. No 103 has a double shop front with rectangular bays that include glazing bars and a half-glazed central door beneath a rectangular fanlight, topped by a continuous entablature. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 89 to 103 and Nos 94 and 96.
